    Reading Recovery Teacher

I have been the Reading Recovery teacher at Sneinton C of E primary for four years. I feel very fortunate as I have a job I absolutely love. I am passionate about teaching children to read. I work with the most amazing children and through Reading Recovery they take the first steps to becoming a reader and then, by the end of their programme they are on their way to being 'readers for life'.

Outside of school I am a busy mum of 3 children aged 10, 12, and 15. At the moment I seem to have very little time for hobbies as I spend a lot of time as an unpaid taxi driver for my children! However, when I do get chance I enjoy walking, swimming and spending time with friends.

  • Nina Evans

    Nina Evans

    Class Teacher

I have been a teacher since I left University and have taught in lots of different schools across the Key Stages.

I moved to Nottingham a couple of years ago and started here at Sneinton in January 2015.

I have the privilege of teaching Year 1. My favourite thing about being a teacher is watching the children blossom in this year group, into independent readers, writers and thinkers.

I live with my partner and three naughty, fat, lazy cats. I used to live by the sea so I enjoy walks along the Trent and trips to Skegness.

I love reading, watching films and have recently taken up Yoga and Pilates. I enjoy playing the piano although I am not very good!

I would really like to learn to ski properly and do a skydive (not at the same time!)

As a keen cyclist I organize and run some of our Bikeability, Life Cycle and other cycling events across school.
